Great Desserts

Jul 3rd, 2008 by Shalee

All of the books listed are ones that I’ve adored so much that I’ve either bought them in hardback for my bookshelf or I’ve given as gifts. I’ll only own the ones that I want to read time and time again.

My taste is very eclectic. I don’t stick to one genre, and I can truly appreciate a book that doesn’t have a “perfectly happy” ending. So don’t get really mad at me if you pick one of these and the prince and princess doesn’t ride off in the sunset together, never to be worried again. Sometimes the best ending is that the one that makes you wish something else happened, but you know that it couldn’t end any other way in order for the story to be incredibly powerful, beautiful and memorable – where you can still taste the story weeks after you’ve bitten into it. It’s in your blood.

I’m always looking for a good book to add to the list.  Think you’ve got one?  Send me your suggestion to my email and I’ll give it a read.  Who knows?  You might find it on the list soon enough.

      Hi Shalee !
I am not sure if you remember me, my name is Judy and you posted a blog about SSG Heathe Craig a little over 2 years ago. He was my husband and I wrote you a “little” Tribute for your page. I just wanted to say Hello and tell you that I still look on your page from time to time and still enjoy it !
You´re doing a great job and I hope you´ll keep up the good work !!!

You have several of my favorites here, but the Anne of Green Gables series, Cold Sassy Tree, and Peace Like a River are top of my list!

Shalee, I just found your website through “Rocks in my Dryer” (she is so funny) And so are you, now that I have read a little about you from your site.
I too am a working woman and I LOVE to read. I just wished I read faster, there are so many books and so little time.
I just wanted to share a couple of my favorites.
These are all by Tracie Peterson:
Ladies of Liberty series: A Lady of High regard, A Lady of Hidden Intent and A Lady of secret devotion. These are set in the time of Jane Austin, if I am not mistaken, 1850′s.
The Broadmoor series: A daughters Inheritance was great and the next one should be out soon.

The one that I am reading now is: Land of my heart also by Peterson. I like to read about the way of life in the past. Life was so much simpler (if that is a word)

      Happy Reading!!!
      Robin
PS. The Twilight series is a must read as well, and you would like the one that Stephanie Meyer did for adults: Host
