Sleep: The Final Frontier

Feb 3rd, 2009 by Shalee

That’s a voyage I would love to take and reach the destination.  It seems that I can’t get my body and mind to agree to the trip though, so I’m going to just have to be tired… again.

So I’m focusing on the good right now so that I won’t fall asleep while typing.  (It’s going to be a long day, by the feel of it.)

  1. Mr. Right and I had our introduction to the dancing.  We met our instructors (really nice) and they didn’t balk when we were two white people from religious backgrounds wanting to learn how to move. Then we worked separately for a while with the instructors.  (My down fall (besides my feet) will be learning how to follow.  I think this dance thing will be very good for my marriage in more ways than one!)  It was fun and we’re looking forward to the next lesson (in 2 weeks – we’re busy!) and hopefully squeezing a dance party in before that.
  2. We came home to practice what we had learned only to realize that we didn’t remember as much as we would have hoped.  We still had a good time practicing what we could remember.
  3. We’re heading out to Denny’s free Grand Slam breakfast in a few minutes.  I just hope the coffee is really eye-opening today.
That’s all I’ve got for now.  I’ve got to go wake the kids for the free food and get myself ready.  Mr. Right thinks that there will be a line out the door so we’re going to try to be the first ones there.  Well at least I’m not losing any additional sleep time over it!
What’s on your agenda today?  (If you say nap, I may be tempted to hunt you down… or cry.  Either one at this point.)

I’m sorting out toys in the lil’ kids bedroom! Whoo!

bummer about the sleeplessness. Ornery returned Saturday from Wichita and since he worked nights almost the whole time he was there, is having a hard time getting his days and nights back on track. He’s pretty sleepy, too, and arriving at work later and later each morning.

I am baking and cooking today. Granola, cookies, roast beef in the crock pot, quiche, and cooking the meat for chili (I don’t have the rest of the ingredients yet.) Hopefully Ryan comes home tomorrow!!

Dancing lesson… how much fun is that! Today I am going to try to go into my photo file and change the number names to real names so I will know what I have swiped from all my friends and what I might use on my blog. That is my only plan beyond making sure my family has food and maybe, just maybe we will all walk down the lane and get the mail.

A friend and I went to Denny’s this morning at 6:50 for the free breakfast. The line was out the door! We went to Panera instead – I had gift cards! Were you able to get the free breakfast?

That’s what I been sayin’ – Rather than counseling, couples need to take dance lessons! He learns to lead. She learns to follow. Together it highlights his heroism, her beauty, and a concert their kids will love.
No Denny’s in our town. Maybe I’ll take comfort at Panera’s.

Any pictures from dance class? I would love to see That!

How was the free breakfast? Heard the lines were huge here in AZ.

I saw the TV commercials for the free Denny’s Grand Slam and have been craving it since. We don’t have one in our town, so I ate peanut butter for breakfast.
I’m with you on the sleep that keeps slipping away. Lately it seems every night something always wakes me up after about 2 or 3 hours and then I can never get back to sleep until about 30 minutes before my alarm is set to go off. I could really use a nap too. Preferably, one that lasts about 3 days.

you are a braver woman than i, my friend. no way was i going to get out of my nice warm toasty bed for a free breakfast. nope, sorry, ain’t happenin’ especially since i fell asleep on the sofa around 10:15 and woke up at 1:30 and couldn’t get back to sleep until after 2 a.m. LOL I should have called you. ;) hope breakfast was yummy & the coffee was eye opening. i’m jealous of your warm weather & ability to wash your car on Saturday. Doing that here would mean the doors freeze shut and I would be waiting until April for them to thaw. LOL Ok, i gotta go now – time for a nap. :D

I know all about the sleepness-ness thing, and it sucks. I would give up Christmas – and even my old guy at times – just for a full nights sleep. Don’t tell the old guy tho.

And the Grand Slam breakfast? Oh MY! I’m so darn jealous, that I won’t get a wink of sleep tonight, just drooling over the thought of Denny’s!
