So What Happened To Thursday?

Jan 9th, 2009 by Shalee

I don’t know what happened yesterday.  I just didn’t post for some reason.

It might have been due to the fact that I slept until 6:30 AM.  That only left me an hour and change to get ready for work, get the kids ready and eat any semblance of a good breakfast.

Being so busy at work that I barely had time to go potty may have played a part in the omission as well.  I still love the job, even if it doesn’t have the same glorious view as my previous job.  (I’ll get a picture some time, Jeana.)

The coming home and having to do everything else part of my life surely contributed to the lack of post.  Still working on that pile of laundry, which is down to a load now, thank you very much.  Baked potatoes won’t bake themselves and unfortunately, I keep moving to a house that doesn’t come with a maid.

And I guarantee that the game last night is a reason I didn’t post.  What a great game!  This is one time when I would have been happy to see either team win, but from the onset, when The Boy asked who I was rooting for, I said Florida because I really like Tebow and his uninhibited praise to God for everything.  He’s not perfect by any means – who is?! – but I love that straight out of the box for every game I’ve seen him play, his first reaction is to give God the glory, before, during and after the game.  I can’t help but want to cheer for a kid like that.  (The Girl, on the other hand, chose Oklahoma because she liked the red of the uniform.  Hey, it’s a start.  At least she actually watched some of the game…)

Guess what starts this weekend.  The Boy has his first Upwards Basketball game.  It’s come so fast!  He missed a few practices due to the weather, but really, we’re just happy to see him participate in something fun… even if it is basketball.

Oh Lord, help me to not walk away from the game with teeth marks in my tongue.  No I take that back.  Teeth marks would be just right.

What’s on your agenda this weekend?  Mine, other than basketball?  Well, I’m going to go through Bloglines and start visiting friends again.  I’m a terrible blogging friend, but I mean to make up for that a bit this weekend, Lord willing.  Plus, I hate feeling so out of the loop.  I really want to know what’s going on with y’all!  (Y’all don’t mind that I catch up while watching the football game on Saturday, right?  I mean I only have a few football games left to get me through to next September.  Give me some grace, would ya?)

I think I’ve lost more than just Thursday. I have a LOT of catching up to do too. GO GATORS!

Hey guess what? I watched the game last night too, much to the dismay of the rest of the family. LOL.

What’s on the agenda this weekend? Not a whole lot. Of fun stuff that is. LOL. Lots of laundry, organizing, housecleaning though. :v)

It seems to be going around! Although, I find that I am losing more than just time.
I am hopefully going to catch up on my much neglected housework, finally send off “Christmas” cards only now they are New Years cards, attend my niece’s birthday party (on my birthday), and have a “germaphobe” over to my house to record a demo – hence the housecleaning. The recoding gig is my husbands so he will thankfully pitch in with the cleaning. He is good at that.

I have to admit I was a bit dismayed about the game last night. I just don’t understand why they can’t get it done in a Bowl game. I don’t even want to know how many years it’s been since they’ve actually won one. Sigh.
As for basketball, I never could get in to it either, except during March Madness and filling out the brackets.
    Have a great weekend!

On the to-do list: reenactor group paper work, reenactor group emails, reenactor floggings to get some things through people’s heads (it’s called deadline for a reason folks. LOL), laundry, cleaning, some embroidery work, hopefully a glass or two of some good red wine and cuddle time with the cat. is that the glamorous single life or what? LOL have a great one. :)

Ainsley has her first basketball game tomorrow, too, Shalee. She is playing Upward as well. (Love it!)

Hope you have a very nice weekend.

Everyone needs a day off from time to time. It sounds like you are really busy. Hey, Shalee I finished a book! Now reading Mrs. Steffy, My Mother, the Mortician. Thanks for your reading mentoring.

I’ve got to do the bloglines scroll, as well, and do some visitin’. I’m dreadfully behind. But it should be a good weekend for it–ice coming, then snow. Everybody around here is planning to cozy down and stay in pajamas for most of Saturday. No sports this weekend. No obligations. Low key. Slow.

Based on what it’s looking like outside right now, we’ll be hunkerin’ down for some cozy fireplace time. Shoulda gotten groceries today, I guess.

Yeah, come on over to my blog; you’ve missed some real action. lol Oh, and I copied you on an email I sent to Shannon today. :-)

Hope your boy enjoys his basketball game! And Tim Tebow is the kind of athlete I wish there were more of. Gators fans here too. :)

Not a terrible friend at all! Sometimes life just catches up with you–

Here it’s been football ALL the time lately.

Don’t worry, you’ll start finding the balance between work, motherhood and everything else in life again soon. We know you can’t stay away too long!
