Christmas Cheer

Dec 29th, 2012 by Shalee

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words.

I have at least 16,823 for you to read then… because you know I have to add some extra words too. :)

The stockings were filled… and not an ounce of coal was seen!

The Boy was ohfer excited to see these gifts from Santa!!

Yes. That’s fruit from their stockings. They asked Santa for them. They are so weird.

They also asked for cookie dough. I had NO IDEA the elves made that in their workshops too…

Mr. Right caught this series of scenes… and it’s completely unstaged because I didn’t realize he was taking pictures. It cracked me up because at least one of us will pull this scene sometime during the opening. This time it was me.

It was a lovely day, full of lots of laughter, great food and a few surprises. Mr. Right completely flabbergasted me with a trip to Memphis.

Just me.

To go whenever I can work the details out with friends.

As I hugged him in thanks, I suddenly started to weep. For joy. I truly miss my Tennessee family and friends. I have longed for years to see them again. This was an unexpected and perfect gift that will most definitely be used this year!

The remainder of the day was filled with great food (if I may say so myself), family time and a movie to end the evening. (Knight & Day: If you haven’t seen it, I recommend it!) All in all, it was a success all around. The kids kept commenting at various times, “This was the best Christmas ever!” I assure you, it had naught to do with the presents and everything to do with everyone being together as a family. Well, the ice cream maker that the Grands gave us may have had an influence on it. :)

I hope your Christmas was as delightful as ours. If everyone could have as memorable and splendid day as we did, there would be a lot more peace and joy in this world.

Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas! Your kids crack me up with the fruit they ask for. Love the movie Knight and Day.
