A Good Time Was Had By All
Nov 30th, 2009 by Shalee
You know, I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing that I didn’t miss blogging this week…
As a matter of fact, I did nada on the internet front. I think at the most, I did a couple of facebook updates just to say that I loved having my family in town! Mr. Right was here for the entire week, as well as my parents. We were blessed to have my parents-in-awe and my brother-in-awe’s family here too. If only my brother and his family and my sister-in-awe could have made it… I wouldn’t have known where to put everyone, but it would have been fun!
News of the week:
• The Boy turned two whole hands on the 25th. I cannot believe that he is 10! He loved that we had a family birthday party for him, celebrating with gifts and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream (per his request). The surprise hit gift was the chess set from us. The Boy, The Girl, one of the cousins and Mr. Right played multiple games one after another! Even when everyone had left, The Boy and The Girl played well together, competitively playing to reign as a chess extraordinaire in the house.
• Tenni the cat has returned for a short visit! The kids are thrilled to have her back until Christmas, even if she has traitorously slept in my room for a couple of nights. (She’s been at Grandma’s house for the duration of this house-on-the-market time.
• It was really nice to have the kids’ Dad around for the week. He played and talked and handled situations. The Boy was especially clingy to him since he’s really been missing a father figure for the last couple of months.
• Dinner was absolutely delicious! I only bought a 12 lbs turkey this year to feed 13 in all. More perfect was the fact that there was leftovers enough for one meal and then it was gone, leaving me to rejoice in the idea of not eating turkey for days on end!
• All visitors are gone now. It feels ever so weird to not have someone sleeping in the guest room and lonely to be in the king-sized bed all by myself… well other than the cat, but she totally doesn’t count.
A resounding applaud goes out to my parents for their help around the house. My dad fixed all sorts of small things and my mom kept up the laundry and had meals on the table when I came home from work. Thanks so much for your love!
Did you have a good week? I know I’ve missed out on tons of things, so fill me in with any news that you’re willing to share!
And, for the record, it’s good to be back to writing again!
PS We’re still praying about the house selling. As it stands at the moment, it doesn’t look good for the couple to assume our loan due to other properties that they presently own. But I know that God is not limited to our resources, so I’m praying that He will make a way for this deal to work! Also, we have a viewing this Saturday. I would appreciate your prayers on our behalf!

Happy birthday to the boy! Ten already? I remember the post about his birthday being on Thanksgiving.
Sounds like a fun, busy holiday. Just the way you like it.
Happy belated birthday to The Boy. Sounds like a joyful time with the family for the holiday. Don’t tell Tenni she doesn’t count. She’ll get you for that.
it was a good holiday spent with family especially my nephew, Peanut.
